Viral hepatitis

The official statistics of viral hepatitis B in Ukraine, 2014-2015: the Prevalence of chronic hepatitis B – 0.2-0.3 patients per 1 000 children population; the Incidence of chronic hepatitis B – 0.83-0.79 cases per 100 000 children population; the Incidence of acute hepatitis B – 1.05–0.75 cases per 100 000 children population. 19,459 patients with chronic hepatitis B (included 3 084 new patients) and 324 patients with acute viral hepatitis B were registered in Ukraine in 2014. The official statistics of viral hepatitis C in Ukraine, 2014-2015: the Prevalence of chronic hepatitis C varied between 0.25 to 0.3 patients per 1000 children population, the Incidence of chronic hepatitis C – 1.04–0.55 cases per 100 000 children population; the Incidence of acute hepatitis C – 0.17-0.2 cases per 100,000 children population. According to the WHO, Ukraine belongs to the countries with 3 % Prevalence of hepatitis C infection, which is about 1 170 000 infected patients. However, according to the results of selective monitoring of risk groups, the level of hepatitis C infection exceeds the average indicator and reaches 40-60%. Read more.
