Chronic painThe problem of treatment of chronic pain is complex, and its high importance is shown particularly in the statistics of the National Cancer Registry of Ukraine, 2014: the Prevalence of cancer: 909.087 patients or rate – 2507.2 patients per 100 thousand population (males – 1903.3; females – 3030.2). The Incidence of malignant tumors: 135,307 new cases or rate (age-standardized, world standard) – 223.7 new cases per 100 thousand population (males – 267.1; females – 202.2). The Mortality of malignant tumors: 67,189 deaths or rate (age-standardized, world standard) – 105.6 deaths per 100 thousand population (males – 151.4; females – 77.0). The Incidence of malignant tumors (children): 1034 new cases or rate (age-standardized, world standard) – 15.6 new cases per 100 thousand children population (males – 17.0; females – 14.1). The Mortality of malignant tumors (children): 280 deaths or rate (age-standardized, world standard) – 3.9 deaths per 100 thousand children population (males – 4.4; females – 3.4).

  • Ukraine: 1 recruiting clinical trial is conducted on 20 clinical sites in 8 cities. The country experience includes 6 Phase II, III, and IV clinical trials for chronic pain totally conducted on 27 clinical sites in 13 cities. The city leaders by the number of clinical trials: Kyiv – 6, Kharkiv – 5, Lviv/Odesa – 4 trials. The city leaders by the number of clinical sites: Kyiv – 7, Vinnytsia – 4, Odesa – 3 sites.
