Ukraine is highly attractive for clinical researchWhy Ukraine? All the advantages of the Ukrainian market in comparison with the other emerging countries of Europe are summarized here in 7 key items:

1. Central location
Ukraine is situated in the center of Eastern Europe, on the crossroads of important transportation routes from Europe to Asia and from the Scandinavian countries to the Mediterranean region.

2. Huge naïve patient pool
Ukraine is a big country with a centralized state healthcare system and, at the same time, has one of the lowest rate of international clinical trials/population in Europe.

3. Research-friendly country regulations
The Regulatory Authorities in Ukraine during the last years have made some key regulating steps improving and simplifying the country clinical research environment: quicker start-up, shorter list of applying documents, less IMP import costs.

  1. I would actually move quality & motivation higher up the rank.
High quality is what Ukrainian investigators together with CROs have achieved over years of diligent work and this is a key for successful R&D. Our quality is something to be proud of and crucial for Sponsors, thus I would place it first 🙂
Opportunity to learn, implement top of the line threatments, use state of the art technologies and be a part of “global team” for better future, fuels up Ukrainian Investigators’ motivation more (in my opinion) than motivation of Investigators in countries, where this opportunity is more readily available or taken for granted. Thus, I would place motivation right after naïve patient pool item.
